Robowind is currently on our third generation robot design. Over several years of research and development, we have repeatedly refined our design based on both technical challenges encountered and feedback from a variety of wind turbine system owners, operators, and manufacturers. Wind turbines represent a challenging environment both to get the robot on a blade hundreds of feet above the ground and to achieve the stability needed for successful operation while on the blade.
Our early designs were researched and built by California State University Long Beach. These presented challenges with stability and winching onto the blade that have been resolved with our 3rd generation design.
